ASTIR THIRA
In Thira, a few meters from the center, Astir Thira Hotel is a newly built B class hotel just across from the volcano and its immaculate sunset. The complex offers thirteen luxurious and comfortable rooms, all with private bath and balcony, telephone, two channels of music, refrigerator, color television with seven Greek and seven satellite channels, air conditioning, and safe deposit box. In the lobby area is the saloon with TV and breakfast area. Astir Thira Hotel also offers a swimming pool and private parking lot. GROTTO VILLAS
Grotto Villas is located in Firostefani, near Fira. The complex consists of 15 houses first operated some 20 years ago when authentic cave houses (7 total) were bought by their current owner, Mr. Jiannis, originally from Switzerland, who fell in love with the island and the people. Since then, another 8 houses have been built in the traditional style, and now all of them overlook the splendid Caldera. There are 3 types of rooms: studios (2 people), one bedroom apartments with separate bedroom (2-4 people), and two bedroom apartments with two bathrooms (one with bathtub and one with shower, for 2-6 people). Each studio has a private bathroom with bathtub/W.C., ample sitting room, fully equipped kitchen cooking rings, utensils, refrigerator and oven (not in all), direct-dial phone, self-regulated A/C (warm and cold), satellite TV, and a big private terrace or balcony with volcano and sea view. The furnishing is quite comfortable, with daily cleaning and change of towels, and sheet changes every 2 days. General hotel facilities include a reception, a small swimming pool with umbrellas and sun beds, a pool bar, safe deposit boxes, fax and Internet service, and a visiting room where people arriving early or leaving late can leave their luggage and get some rest or have a shower, before checking in/out. Breakfast is basic continental. The complex cannot be accessed by car and several steps need to be climbed, but it is neither a difficult nor a long walk from the town's centre.
PHILIPPION
Built in 1998, in the traditional Cycladic architectural style, this complex of 20 modern luxurious units combines, uniquely, a traditional atmosphere with the comforts of a modern hotel.
